Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane transporting the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has experienced technical problems.
Earlier this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to turn back to Washington DC after experiencing a technical issue.
