More than two weeks following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the pair.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he only now felt prepared to express about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can now express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the movie, remarking that he could not remember "one day without joy".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a distinct piece, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles judge agreed to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" connected to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making provocative statements that were widely condemned by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the critics recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan characterized the remarks as "shocking" and suggested they showed a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by proposing that an aide ought to have intervened when the decision to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
